Vienna University of Economics and Business

WU (Vienna University of Economics and Business) is a public university committed to excellence in research and research-led teaching. WU’s activities are guided by academic integrity, fairness, equal opportunities, diversity, and open mindedness. WU sees itself as an international university, as an important hub for global exchange, and as a place where students and teachers work together.

WU’s triple accreditation by EQUIS, AACSB, and AMBA – the three foremost international accreditations for business and economics universities – is a testimonial of WU’s high quality standards. Fewer than 1% of universities world-wide can claim triple accreditation by EQUIS, AACSB, and AMBA. WU is one of only two universities in the German-speaking world to belong to this exclusive group of schools.

Eleven academic Departments form the foundation of the WU organizational structure, and are complemented by 60 Institutes, 16 Research Institutes and 5 Competence Centres. WU’s roughly 2,400 employees (1,367 full time equivalents) are working continuously to further improve teaching and research quality and campus life in all relevant areas. Currently 795 fte are involved in teaching and research and 572 fte in administration and service units.

With just under 23.000 students originating from 110 countries the WU is the biggest place for education in economic and social sciences. WU offers 3 bachelor, 15 master and 5 doctoral/PHD programs.
